General
We consider the careful handling of personal data to be of great importance. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured by us. In our processing, we comply with the requirements set by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this statement, we explain which personal data we collect and use and for what purpose. We recommend that you read this statement carefully.

Security
We make efforts to secure the website against misuse and unauthorized access to personal data. For example, we use SSL-secured connections. It is your responsibility to secure the equipment you use to visit and use our website, for example, with a virus scanner.

Personal Data
By using our website, you provide us with certain data. This may include personal data: data that can be directly or indirectly traced back to you. We only store and use the personal data that you provide directly or that are clearly provided to us for processing.

We use the obtained personal data only for the purposes for which they have been made available to us by you.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, and we request data for that purpose, we will only use this data to send you our newsletter by email. You can always unsubscribe from the newsletter by using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. Once you unsubscribe, we will immediately delete your personal data related to the newsletter. The legal basis on which we process the personal data is the execution of your request to receive the newsletter.

We also process your data for statistical purposes. This allows us to gain general insights, such as demographic information.

We also collect your personal data to build a profile. This is based on, for example, which links you click on in the newsletter, which device you prefer to read the newsletter on, or when you read the newsletter.

The legal basis for building a profile in this case is the pursuit of a legitimate interest: we can provide you with better content.

We do not process more data than necessary for this purpose, and your interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms are not harmed. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, any associated profile will also be deleted.

Contact Form
If you wish to ask a question or contact us, you can use the contact form on our website. The data you provide to us via the contact form will be used solely to respond to your question or comment. After responding, we will delete your personal data.

The legal basis on which we process the personal data is: the execution of your request for information or responding to your comment.

Job Application
If you leave data on our website in the context of a job application, we will only use this data for the application process for the vacancy you applied for. If the vacancy you applied for is filled or withdrawn, we will destroy the data you provided, such as your resume and cover letter, unless we have obtained your consent to retain the data for future vacancies.

The legal basis on which we process the personal data is: the (pre-contractual) performance of an employment contract.

Please note: a passport photo, place of birth, union memberships, sexual orientation, and health condition are special categories of personal data. You are not required to include this information in your resume or cover letter, as it is irrelevant to the assessment of your application.

Third-Party Provision
We may engage third parties to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties are referred to as "processors." These processors always operate under our responsibility and are not allowed to use personal data for their own purposes. We have entered into data processing agreements with these third parties.

This includes our hosting provider and suppliers of online tools. For example, with these online tools, we can send the newsletter, follow up on your questions or comments, or handle your job application.

Personal data may be processed outside the EU or EEA. This usually involves the United States. We ensure that third parties processing your personal data are Privacy Shield certified or work with the EU model contracts for data transfer.

Cookies
Only functional cookies are placed on our website.

This statement does not apply to third-party websites or services linked or otherwise connected to our website. We cannot guarantee that these third parties handle your personal data reliably or securely. We recommend that you read the privacy statements or other (general) terms of these websites or services before using them.

Questions, Right of Access, Correction, and Deletion
For questions about our privacy policy or questions regarding access to and changes to (or deletion of) your personal data, you can contact us at any time. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to adequately identify yourself.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access, rectify, or delete personal data or restrict processing, as well as the right to object to further processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • If the processing of personal data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
